The Inge Foundation and the Georgia State University Department of English’s Creative Writing Program present Laurie Ann Guerrero on Tuesday, February 28, 2017, at 11:00 am (reception to follow). The reading will be in the Troy Moore Library, 25 Park Place, 23rd Floor.

 

Laurie Ann Guerrero received the Academy of American Poets Prize, among others, from Smith College. Winner of the 2012 Andrés Montoya Poetry Prize, her first full-length collection, A Tongue in the Mouth of the Dying, was selected by Francisco X. Alarcón (University of Notre Dame 2013). Her latest collection, A Crown for Gumecindo (Aztlan Libre 2015), a sonnet corona in memory of her grandfather, received the 2016 Helen C. Smith Award for poetry from the Texas Institute of Letters. She served as the 2016 Texas Poet Laureate.
