What is your concentration?

Why are you majoring in English?

I chose to major in English because I wanted to learn how to read critically and communicate complicated ideas in both my day-to-day life and career.

What was your favorite English class at Georgia State (so far)?

This is a very tough question, but I would say Introduction to Literary Theory with Dr. Calvin Thomas. The course taught me to ask the question, “How is what is actual also possible?”

What are some of your extra-curricular projects or activities?

I work at the Writing Studio as a desk volunteer, with the IDEAL program as a peer mentor for students with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities, and I am currently working on an honors thesis on witches in Shakespeare to receive the distinction of Research Honors when I graduate.

What long-term plans or aspirations do you have for your career?

My goal is to be an English professor and to continue pursuing research in British literature, although that still feels far away. My specialty needs a little focusing, but right now I am primarily interested in medieval and early modern British literature.
