Portfolio Submissions

Beginning with spring semester 2016, portfolios will be submitted and assessed through Chalk & Wire.
Prior to the midpoint, you will receive an email at your GSU email address asking you to confirm your intention to graduate at the end of the current semester.  You must follow the instructions within the email in order for a Chalk & Wire license to be purchased for your account.

 

How to log into Chalk and Wire

 

  1. Check your GSU email for a message from Chalk and Wire Portfolio with the subject Welcome to GSU Chalk and Wire.
  2. Open the email from Chalk and Wire Portfolio and receive your username and password.
  3. Go to http://chalkandwire.gsu.edu/
  4. Enter the username and password that you received and click “Enter”.
  5. You will then be prompted to create a new password. Enter your new password and click “Submit”. The submit button will appear light blue and become clickable when all fields have been properly filled.

 

How to Change your Password

  1. Click the drop down arrow next to your name in Chalk and Wire and select “Change Password”.
  2. Fill in all fields and click “Submit”. The submit button will appear light blue and become clickable when all fields have been properly filled.
  3. You will receive the message “Password has been changed”.
  4. Click “Close” to return to your Chalk and Wire account. Use your new password on your next login.

Forgot your password?

  1. Go to http://chalkandwire.gsu.edu/
  2. Click the “Forgot your password?” link.
  3. Enter your Username and click “Submit”.
  4. You will receive the following message:
  5. Check your GSU email account for an email from Chalk and Wire Portfolio with the subject Chalk and Wire Password Recovery and open.
  6. Click “Reset My Password”.
  7. Fill in all fields and click “Submit” to enter your Chalk and Wire account. The submit button will appear light blue and become clickable when all fields have been properly filled.

 

How to Submit your Portfolio

  1. Open a web browser and enter http://chalkandwire.gsu.edu/ into the address bar.
  2. Enter your username and password
  3. From the Menu located on the left of the screen, select Work and then My Coursework.
  4. Click the New Portfolio button.
  5. In the Name box, enter the Name for your portfolio. We suggest following this format: Last name, first name, Panther number or Campus ID. e.g. Adkins, Tracy tadkins5
    From the Table of Contents drop down select your concentration. Then click Create.
  6. A table of contents listing the instructions and requirements for each element of your portfolio will be created. You will then be able to use the ADD Content button to upload or create content. You may add documents or files such as Word or PDF as well as audio or video files, and link to external content such as a blog. Content that you have in hard copy can be scanned as a PDF or image and added to the portfolio. You can view a sample of the rubric that will be used to assess your portfolio by returning to the table of contents. On the right side of your window you will see a link labeled How will I be assessed? This link will allow you to view any rubrics associated with your portfolio.
  7. When all required content has been added to the portfolio you may click Submit. This will create a copy of your portfolio submission and assign it to the appropriate faculty for assessment.

 

How to View your Assessment Details

Faculty assessors will begin assessing portfolios using the provided rubrics after the midpoint.

 

  1. Open a web browser and enter http://chalkandwire.gsu.edu/ into the address bar.
  2. Enter your username and password.
  3. From the Menu located on the left of the screen, select Work and then My Results. Results or the status of each assessment from each faculty assessor will be visible.
  4. Click the Assessor name to view details of the assessment. In the pop-up menu that appears click View Details. Details will include the rubric scores and comments and comments made directly on the evidence submitted.
