Biography

Andrea Jurjević is a Lecturer with the Department of English. The author of Small Crimes, winner of a Philip Levine Poetry Prize, her book-length translations from Croatian include Mamasafari (Diálogos Press, 2018) and Dead Letter Office (The Word Works, 2020). Jurjević earned her Bachelor’s in Journalism and her MFA in Poetry at Georgia State University.

Her work has appeared in TriQuarterly, The Missouri Review, EPOCH, Los Angeles Review, The Southeast Review, and elsewhere. She was the recipient of a Robinson Jeffers Tor Prize, a Tennessee Williams Scholarship from the Sewanee Writers’ Conference, a Hambidge Fellowship, and the 2018 Georgia Author of the Year award. She is a native of Croatia.
