UNDERGRADUATE INTERNSHIPS
Internships in English-ENGL 4500
Course Description
The GSU English Department’s Internship Program helps students make professional connections, gain valuable and diverse work experiences, and develop career skills related to the study of English. Your internship might take place at a business, a school, a foundation/non-profit, or a government agency under the mentorship of a supervisor. Duties may include assisting in teaching, writing, researching, editing, copyediting, instructional design, communications and outreach, community programming, and more. It’s important to be creative when envisioning how your skills and credentials as an English major or minor might prepare you for the workforce. You and your mentor should collaborate to design an internship that both meets your goals as a student learning the profession and satisfies your mentoring organization’s needs for specialized assistance.
